4 jobs I have had in my life...

Montgomery Wards during Christmas Season. It was AWFUL! I’ve never been more stressed or incompetent in a job than I was with this one!

A Japanese trading company, doing data entry, Customs’ Clearance, and the Letters of Credit to the factories.

A large shipping company (container ships), processing the export Bills of Lading.

A large Sports and Fitness company. Working along the Supply Chain. Importing footwear to a major account’s Distribution Center.

4 movies I could watch over and over...

Airplane! – My all time favorite movie!

Better Off Dead – a “teen movie” comedy with John Cusack.

Somewhere In Time – my inspiration for McKenna’s name. An all time romantic classic with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve.

Sixteen Candles – another hilarious “teen movie”, starring Molly Ringwald.

4 places I have lived...

Oregon, Oregon, Oregon, and Oregon. There’s no place like home. The ocean, the mountains, the gorge, the people, the mindset, it’s wonderful! I don’t see myself living anywhere else.

4 places I have been on vacation...

New York, New York – I love it there!! I would visit every year, if I could. I love going to Broadway shows, the restaurants, Fifth Avenue, etc.!

Hong Kong – back in 1991. I had never been out of the USA, so this was definitely Culture Shock (the crowds, the food, etc.) I would love to go back, because I’m sure I would LOVE IT this time, knowing more of what to expect.

Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand – this was on the same trip as Hong Kong in 1991. Again, Culture Shock the 1st time, but I would love to visit again. The 1st time I was so overwhelmed by the traffic and polution in Bangkok, but the palace was beautiful. Phuket was wonderful back then. A tropical paradise, but it was starting to be “Westernized” and overrun with tourists, even back in 1991. I wonder what it’s like now, after the tsunami???

Disneyland and Disneyworld! Again, 2 places that I would love to visit every year!

I have the most awesome Feb 2006 DTC Secret Pal!!!

I have the most awesome, creative, thoughtful, original, and talented Feb 2006 DTC Secret Pal!!! The September Theme for gifts was "Fall Favors". Well, my resourceful Secret Pal researched my Blog and found that McKenna had a new tricycle, (and she also noticed my Ladybug Theme for McKenna's clothes and nursery). In a twist to "Fall Favors", my Secret Pal came up with "Fall Savers" and created a Ladybug Helmet!!! She also added another "Fall Saver", Curious George Band-Aids!!! :-)

Dreams Really Do Come True...

My friend Margie, from our local single parent adoption group, came home with her daughter Amity on 9/2/06! Margie was DTC 6/17/05 and LID 6/27/05. We've shared this incredible journey with Margie, the highs and the lows, the longer than expected wait (was 6 months, turned into 8 additional months), and finally the tears of joy arriving home at the airport. Dreams really do come true! Margie and Amity are proof!
